The
Global Art Grab - sample chapter
p2
Dusk
was beginning to drape hazily over Sydney Harbour, covering its buildings
in a pink glow. The streets around the city that were normally crammed
with tourists, were quiet now. Only a small number of sightseers remained,
defiantly cramming in every attraction Sydney had to offer before the
last splinters of daylight disappeared. The department store tills had
stopped ringing, most workers had finished working, it was time to go
home. The Azure Complex was a new addition to the Sydney skyline. It was
built directly opposite the skyscraper, the roof of which Chuck Porecki
was now standing on. On the thirty-fifth floor, the relaxing hum of a
floor polisher echoed through the empty corriders. A night time cleaner
was polishing the dark floor tiles until she could see her face in them.
Slowly she shuffled past the vast offices with their glass walls.
